Frenchtown Evangelistic Assembly began in 1986 by a move of the Holy Spirit under the leadership of Edward Fernando Magras.

On October 30, 2012, Pastor Magras retired from the pastorate. On April 7, 2013, Apostle Edghill was installed as Senior Pastor of the church.

In the year 2014, the Holy Spirit spoke to Apostle Edghill about renaming the church to echo a broader vision of His purpose for the Assembly. After several discussions and the cooperation of the Church Board, steps were made to rename Frenchtown Evangelistic Assembly, Inc. with the blessing of the founding pastor, which was secured before he went to be with the Lord in 2020. On March 23, 2022, the Church Board voted unanimously to present the matter to the General Assembly for its acceptance or rejection. On Sunday, March 27, 2022, the resolution to rename the church, World Overcomers Ministries, was passed with more than a two-thirds majority vote. Shortly thereafter, Frenchtown Evangelistic Assembly was officially renamed World Overcomers Ministries, Inc. The new name signals a resetting and re-launching of the vision and mission of the Church as we continue this good work under God and for His glory.
